Brookings Art Festival

Mom and I took a short vacation and went to Brookings, South Dakota for our annual pilgrimage to the Brookings Summer Arts Festival. We go up every year and stay with friends and have fun.  This year was no different.
The Brooking’s Festival is much bigger and better than Omaha’s Summer Arts Festival. I rarely attend [...]

Introducing: Grandpa Sandy

I went down to Hearts United for Animals Thursday with a friend of mine. She was picking up some dogs that she was going to be transporting. And I didn’t exactly come home empty handed, either. It was NOT supposed to be an adopt a dog day but it turned out to [...]

I’m Back!

I know, another unexplained absence from my blog.  It’s been a combination of really really busy (19 hr days / 7 days a week), which is a good thing combined with blog block.  If you’ve noticed the changes in my blog you’ll see there’s been some changes and that means, I’m recharged and back!

Home For the Holidays

I love holiday’s at Casa Guru. We always have a wonderful mix of family and friends at the holidays and Guru is a fantastic cook. Good food, good friends and LOTS of laughter. We kept the get together a little smaller this year since Guru had to do all the cooking and cleaning.
We had a [...]

Prankster

I grew up hearing all the obnoxious pranks that my Dad and his brother, Leo, would do. I guess when they were little there was a tree with a bee hive. They thought they’d be funny and nail shut the opening to the bee hive. Unbeknownst to them, the bee hive had a [...]

Wednesday Better Be a Happy Hump Day

I worked all weekend so I took yesterday off so I cold catch up at home. Being sick all September, I needed to get the carpets clean since Anne passed. As an “Old Fart”, sometimes she forgot or couldn’t quite make it outside. I was pleased to get that done and didn’t take into consideration [...]

Brookings, SD Art Festival

This past weekend, Mom and two of my sisters went to the Brookings Art Festival. It’s our annual pilgrimage. We had a great time visiting with Shawna and getting sunburnt walking through the park. I NEVER buy anything, just like to look at all the cool stuff. But not this year.
Guru [...]
